Speech-Language Pathologist
Sandra has primarily worked in pediatric private practice, providing individualized speech and language therapy to children with a variety of communication needs, including children on the Autism spectrum. Her clinical interests include feeding therapy, particularly supporting children with feeding aversions, language disorders, speech sound disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and stuttering therapy. She is certified in the SOS Approach to Feeding and the SOFFI Method.
Sandra follows a child-led approach to therapy, recognizing that each child communicates and learns in their own unique way. Her goal is to identify meaningful and functional ways for each child to communicate, using a variety of communication modalities to reduce communication breakdowns and help children effectively express their wants, needs, and ideas. She is passionate about supporting children in building confidence and independence in everyday activities, especially helping children move from feeding aversions toward comfortably eating and participating at the table with family and friends.
Sandra believes that meaningful progress extends beyond the therapy session and places a strong emphasis on active parent education and collaboration. She strives to equip families with practical strategies they can incorporate into daily routines while creating a supportive and engaging environment where each child can thrive.
