Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) Online

Understanding the Development of Your Child

KidsAbility Paediatric Therapy Clinic provides families with children under the age of five and a half access to the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) Online screening. This tool helps parents gain insights into their child’s development and identify any potential concerns. The screening process is free, quick, and straightforward, making it accessible and convenient for parents.

The Benefits of Developmental Screeners

Screenings assist parents in celebrating their child’s milestones, understanding what to anticipate next, and determining if further actions are necessary. This initial process is crucial for detecting any delays or disabilities in children during the crucial early years before they begin school.

Evidence shows that the earlier development is assessed—the greater the chance a child has to reach his or her potential.

What is the ASQ-3 Online?

The Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ®-3) is a developmental screening tool specifically designed to track developmental milestones in children from as young as one month to 5 ½ years old. Its popularity stems from its focus on parents and its user-friendly design, making it the most commonly utilized developmental screener worldwide.

Research indicates that early assessment of development significantly increases a child’s likelihood of reaching their full potential. Discover more about ASQ-3 and its benefits.

How Does the ASQ Online Screening Work?

Engage in enjoyable and straightforward activities with your child to respond to each question. These activities promote play, movement, and the practice of everyday skills.

Base your answers on your child’s current abilities, using responses like “yes,” “sometimes,” or “not yet” as appropriate.

Once you finish the ASQ screening, KidsAbility Paediatric Therapy Clinic will send you your screener results and provide a number of resources for your family.

We highly encourage all participants to share their ASQ Screener Report with their child’s Paediatrician or General Practitioner.

Identifying delays as early as possible is crucial for supporting young children’s healthy development. You are the expert on your child and play an active role in their learning and growth journey.

What is the ASQ:SE-2?

If you’d like to understand your child’s social and emotional development and identify any concerns, consider completing the Ages & Stages: Social Emotional 2 (SE:2) Questionnaire. This questionnaire covers various aspects such as your child’s ability to calm down, follow directions and rules, communicate effectively, perform daily activities like eating and sleeping, act independently, express feelings, and interact with others. Early identification of social-emotional challenges can significantly impact a child’s development, increasing their chances of reaching their full potential in life. The Ages & Stages Questionnaires®: Social-Emotional, Second Edition (ASQ®:SE-2) is designed for accurate screening of social-emotional health in young children. It’s a parent-completed, highly reliable system specifically focused on social-emotional development, enabling appropriate next steps such as further assessment, specialized intervention, or ongoing monitoring to support children during their crucial early years.

The Data Behind the Ages and Stages Screener

ASQ-3’s validity has been extensively researched, surpassing that of any other screening tool. Psychometric studies, conducted on a normative sample exceeding 18,000 questionnaires, consistently demonstrate high levels of reliability, internal consistency, sensitivity, and specificity.
