when working with caregivers, such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, family systems therapy and solution-focused brief therapy.
The clinical social worker ‘s focus is to provide mental health intervention to
children who present with the following:
neurodevelopmetal disorders (Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
anxiety, depression, self esteem, behaviour management, difficulties adjusting to the different life stages of development and other mental health conditions. Our Counselor uses various therapy modalities for treatment and intervention such as
cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical
behaviour therapy, individual, group,
solution focused, person centred and strength based therapy.
We also offer support to both children and parents undergoing divorce by providing psychoeducation about the divorce process for both children and parents, through family therapy and individual therapy. These services are
aimed at helping the family members understand the emotions associated with divorce such as (grief, loss, guilt, sadness, stress, anger or worry). Lastly, support services help the family redefine the new family setting or dynamics.
