GRAINNE HOULIHAN

Occupational Therapist 

Gráinne pursued a career in Occupational Therapy having worked as a care assistant throughout her education she found working with people and families to support them to engage in the activities most meaningful to them was valuable and rewarding work. Gráinne studied in University College Cork, Ireland and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2021. Having volunteered as a coach for local teams and at summer camps as a teenager, Gráinne pursued a career in paediatrics knowing the joy supporting kids to progress could bring.

She began her career in London in a specialist school for children aged 4-19 who had experienced complex trauma in their lives. Gráinne had the opportunity to work with students with a range of developmental and psychosocial conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Anxiety and Depression.

It was here that she developed an interest in sensory processing and integration.

She completed her PGCert in Ayres’ Sensory Integration in August 2023. Gráinne went on to work across SEN schools in central London. She gained invaluable experience working with children with complex disabilities including Global Developmental Delay, Autism and Cerebral Palsy. She also worked in a specialist hearing impaired provision in Central London. Gráinne is passionate about Occupational Therapy and strives to ensure intervention is child and family centred and goal oriented. Gráinne is registered with the HCPC in the UK.
