EMILY CLARKE

Speech-Language Pathologist

Emily is a Speech-Language Therapist from South Africa. She qualified at the University of Cape Town in 2014. During her community service year at Lydenberg Hospital in rural Mpumalanga she set up speech therapy services and outreach clinics to surrounding areas. Here she gained experience through her full scope of practice but focused most of her efforts in outreach on providing pediatric services to outlying areas. She participated in specialized training in the field of cerebral palsy through an organization which supports caregivers and families in helping them integrate rehabilitation into daily living.

After a year of community service, Emily went on to work for a tertiary level government hospital. Here she had access to mentorship and gained experience working with clients through the life span, with a variety of speech and language disorders.

In 2018 Emily left the government sector and joined a Neurorehabilitation practice in Nelspruit. She was exposed to acute, long term and outpatient neuro rehabilitation for both children and adults. She gained experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism and apraxia of speech to name a few.
